Schedule of Events, NCR, January

Dear Divine Atman,

Year 2018, has been full of events at Noida Ashram. In the month of January, we had the good fortune to have four nuns from SRF visit the ashram and give Satsanga along with Swami Vishwanandaji. As you may be aware, in the month of March, two Sadhana Sangams were held in the sacred environment of the Noida Ashram. The first one was a Centenary Closing Sangam to mark the closing of the Centenary year and the second a normal Sadhana Sangam. It is inspiring to note that both Sangams had full participation. This year too we are having two sangams in March with Kriya Diksha on the last day of both sangams.

Owing to demand from many parts of the country, the Board of Directors of the Yogoda Satsanga Society of India had decided to experiment with an extended retreat in the second half of the year. Extended retreat was successfully held from September 27 to 30, 2018. One of the highlights of this extended retreat was the two Gita Discourses by Swami Smarananandaji on the last two days. Devotees from many states of India came for this retreat and stayed in the ashram. Many local devotees also participated by coming from their homes and going back at the end of the day. This special facility was permitted for this retreat as outstation devotees were given preference for being accommodated in the ashram.

A brief overview of the Ashram

The ashram consists of an administration block, two retreat blocks, a big pandal, grounds for exercise and a beautiful central garden with trees, flowers, butterflies and birds enhancing the spiritual vibrations of the ashram.

Conducted spiritual retreats, led by Swamis are held regularly, mostly over weekends, these consist of 2–3 days of silence, morning evening Energization Exercises and meditation, review of our divine Guru’s techniques of concentration and meditation, teachings and how to live principles.

Individual Retreats are encouraged. Devotees can stay in the ashram for 3–7 days and utilize this period for remaining in silence, introspection, spiritual reading and practicing the presence of God.

Transit accommodation in a spiritual environment (double bed rooms with attached bath) is available to devotees visiting or transiting Delhi or Noida for pilgrimage etc. for up to 3 days.

Any devotee, who wants to attend conducted retreat, individual retreat or avail transit accommodation, should inform Noida Reception by phone or e mail at least 3 days before the date of arrival. Devotees who arrive without such prior intimation may not be accommodated.

Those attending individual or conducted retreats are expected to join group meditations at the ashram. They can seek personal counselling from the sanyasis during their stay.

This booklet contains schedules for Special days of Commemoration, Sangams and Conducted Retreats. It also has information about Group Meditation and Book timings in Delhi and Gurugram Kendras and Noida Ashram.

Noida Ashram is open to visitors during the daytime, and all are welcome to attend the Sunday Satsangas which consist of a period of brief group meditation followed by a discourse by one of the sannyasis. Simultaneously, a Childrens’ Satsanga is conducted in Bal Kutir for devotees’ children aged 5 to 12 years.

A new feature started recently in the ashram is the Mothers’ Room. This room is meant for mothers who have infants and children who are too small to attend the Sunday School. They can sit with their children and view the satsangas and other programs in this room through video feed from the venues.

Gurudeva says “Schedule your life. Don’t waste time. If you socialize with people all the time, you can’t amount to anything. Be by yourself. Get away from people and dive deep within yourself. Ask, ‘How am I going to succeed?’ Whatever you want to do, think about it until you are lost in that idea. Think, think, think, and make plans. Then take a little time; don’t jump into anything at once. Take a step, and then think more. Something within tells you what to do. Do it, and think some more. Some further guidance will come. By learning to go deep within, you will connect your consciousness with the super consciousness of the soul, so that with infinite will power, patience, and intuition you can grow those idea-seeds of success”. Noida ashram offers this opportunity through its retreats, sangams and various other occasions for individual solitude and contemplation in its sylvan environment and spiritual vibrations charged with Guruji’s presence.

In divine friendship,
