Dear Divine Atman,
The first half of this year has been an eventful one. In the month of January, we had the good fortune of having Swami Vishwananda and Bramachari Bhadrananda. They were present on Janmotsav. This function was attended by many dignitaries as closing of 125th Birth Anniversary Celebrations at Noida Ashram. As you may be aware, in March, two Sadhana Sangams were held in the sacred environment of the Noida Ashram. It is inspiring to note that both Sangams had full participation.
We are very pleased to inform that our revered President, Sri Sri Swami Chidananda Giri will be visiting India in months of October-November 2019. Noida Ashram will have the good fortune of having a three day function from October 18 – 20. Devotees from all parts of the country are welcome to join this program. Similar programs will be held at Mumbai and Hyderabad. A separate bulletin with complete information is being sent with respect to this function.
A brief overview of the Ashram
The ashram consists of an administration block, two retreat blocks, a big pandal, grounds for exercise and a beautiful central garden with trees, flowers, butterflies, and birds enhancing the spiritual vibrations of the ashram.
Conducted spiritual retreats: Conducted Retreats at Noida Ashram have been restructured to meet the spiritual needs of devotees. Methods have been introduced to encourage only emergent use of mobile phones and practise complete silence. Retreats will have a central theme and the duration and structure of the program is made to meet the requirements of that theme. There will be adequate periods for rest, self-study, and longer periods of meditation.
Individual retreats are encouraged. Devotees can stay in the ashram for 3-7 days and utilize this period for remaining in silence, introspection, spiritual reading, meditation, and practising the presence of God.
Transit accommodation in a spiritual environment (double bed rooms with attached bath) is available to devotees visiting or transiting Delhi or Noida for pilgrimage etc. for up to 3 days.
ACCOMMODATION in a spiritual environment (double-bed rooms with attached bath) is available to devotees visiting or transiting through NCR for pilgrimage etc. for up to 3 days.
Any devotee, who wants to attend conducted retreat, individual retreat, or avail transit accommodation, should register online or inform Noida Reception by phone or email at least 3 days before the date of arrival. Devotees who arrive without such prior intimation may not be accommodated.
Those attending individual or conducted retreats are expected to join group meditations at the ashram. They can seek personal counselling from the sannyasis during their stay.
This booklet contains schedules for Special days of Commemoration, President’s Visit, and Conducted Retreats. It also has information about Group Meditation and Book timings in Delhi and Gurugram Kendras and Noida Ashram.
Noida Ashram is open to visitors during the daytime, and all are welcome to attend the Sunday Satsangas which consist of a period of brief group meditation followed by a discourse by one of the sannyasis. Simultaneously, a Childrens’ Satsanga is conducted in Bal Kutir for devotees’ children aged 5 to 12 years.
Mothers’ Room: Noida Ashram provides facility to mothers with young babies to attend Sunday Satsanga and other programs through video relay in a special room located in ladies retreat block. We are happy to inform that Mothers’ Room facility has been fully utilized since its inauguration last year.
Gurudeva says: “Protect yourself against temptation and sorrow by reason and by communion with God. In the Bhagavad-Gita the Lord says: ‘The ignorant, oblivious of Me as the Maker of all creatures, are blind to My presence within the human form.’ Meditation is simply reminding yourself again and again that you are not the limited physical body, but the Infinite Spirit. Meditation is arousing the memory of your real Self and forgetting what you imagine you are. If a drunken prince goes into the slums and, forgetting entirely his true identity, begins lamenting, ‘How poor I am,’ his friends will laugh at him and say, ‘Wake up, and remember that you are a prince.’” Noida ashram offers this opportunity through its retreats, sangams, and various other occasions for individual solitude and contemplation in its sylvan environment and spiritual vibrations charged with Guruji’s presence.
In divine friendship,
Yogoda Satsanga Society of India
